My Definition of Success - Borrowed from Emerson
"The definition of success--To laugh much; to win respect of intelligent persons and the affections of children; to earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give one's self; to leave the world a little better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm, and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived--this is to have succeeded."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

So, is that?
ReplyDeleteA) Another tribute to Lex?
B) A personal goal?
D) All of the above?
:D After some or your posts, this is a good one to see. Amongst other things, Lex has caused some reflection amongst his community. And we are the better for it.

Lol - It's D, with C being that it's been my mission/definition for quite some time now. Ever so often, I see the need to remind myself and feel the inclination to share. :)
ReplyDeleteI aspire to make everything I do, a tribute to Lex, my grandmother and others I've been blessed to know. It won't be easy but life would be boring without goals, yeah? ;)
Wow, I just saw your new link at Homefront Six's site. I was bummed when your old site went dark, but there was a clear undercurrent that something was going on. Can I still call you AG now that you're not anonymous? :-)
ReplyDeleteAlways. :) I think I'll always be AG to some and I don't mind that at all.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you're still around the blogosphere!
